In order to
successfully compete with the larger, more-established competitors,
small businesses
must be able to
delivering their core products and services online. This requires a
small business network capable of supporting your online business applications and databases.
A typical small business network is composed
of the following components:
-
Three to twenty PCs with wired/wireless network adapters.
-
Network-connected
(wired and wireless) printers, faxes, surveillances cameras, and other devices.
-
Wired and/or wireless LAN routers.
-
High-speed Internet connection using a cable
modem or DSL router.
Additionally, if you
are like most other small businesses, you have a small, limited IT budget and "no on-staff IT expertise
for supporting this networking infrastructure".
